What your clubs are worth
There is no single answer, and anyone quoting you a number before seeing the clubs is guessing. Six things move a valuation, roughly in this order:
- Brand and model
- Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno, Srixon and Scotty Cameron hold their value best. Store-brand and no-name clubs hold very little regardless of condition.
- Generation
- Each new release pushes the outgoing model down a step. A two-generation-old flagship is often worth more than a current-year budget club.
- Condition
- Face and groove wear matter most on irons and wedges; crown scratches and sky marks on drivers; milling and paint on putters. We grade honestly and pay to the grade.
- Completeness
- Headcovers, wrench tools and matching set numbering all add real money. A driver without its headcover is worth noticeably less than one with it.
- Shaft and flex
- An aftermarket premium shaft can be worth more than the head it is in. Common stock shafts in regular or stiff flex are easiest to move; exotic flexes and lengths narrow the buyer pool.
- Handedness
- Left-handed clubs take longer to sell, which affects what anyone can responsibly offer for them. We still want them — we keep a dedicated left-handed collection.
If you want to judge condition yourself before submitting, our condition guide explains the grades we use and what separates them.
How the trade-in works
Tell us what is in your bag
Brand and model is the minimum. Add club type, shaft, flex and honest condition notes if you know them — it speeds everything up.
We value each club and email your offer
Within 24 to 48 hours. Every club is valued individually against what it is actually selling for, not looked up in a generic table.
You accept and send the clubs in
Nothing is committed until you say yes. Shipping instructions come with your offer.
We inspect and pay out
Once your clubs arrive and we have checked them against your description, we pay by whichever method you picked — or credit it to your account if you chose store credit.
Trade in, or sell it yourself?
Worth being straight about: a private sale on a marketplace will often show a higher number. What that number leaves out is the photographing, the listing, the messages from people who never turn up, the haggling, the packing, the trip to the post office, and the chargeback risk once it has shipped.
A trade-in is one form, one offer, one box. It is the right call if you are upgrading anyway, if you have a full bag to move at once, or if you would simply rather not run a small business for three weeks to clear $200 of clubs. If you have a single rare putter and plenty of patience, sell it yourself — we would tell you the same on the phone.
What we take
We take iron sets, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, single irons, wedges, putters and shafts. If it is golf equipment and it is in reasonable shape, list it — we would rather look at it and tell you than have you decide for us that it is worthless.
Common questions
- What are my used golf clubs worth?
- It comes down to five things: brand, model generation, condition, completeness, and shaft. Premium brands like Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno and Scotty Cameron hold value best, and each new generation pushes the previous one down. A clean, recent set can be worth a meaningful share of what you paid; an older or heavily worn set is worth less, but still far more than nothing sitting in a garage. The only way to get a real number is to tell us the specifics — we come back within 24 to 48 hours.
- How do I find out what my clubs are worth without listing them?
- Send us the details and we do the valuing. List what is in your bag on this page — brand and model at minimum — add anything you know about shaft, flex and wear, and we email you an offer within 24 to 48 hours. There is no listing, no photographing for a marketplace, and no obligation to accept.
- How long does it take to get a trade-in offer?
- Within 24 to 48 hours of you submitting your clubs. We value each club individually rather than running it through a generic price table, which is why it takes hours rather than seconds — and why the number is usually better.
- How do you pay for trade-ins?
- You choose when you submit: PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, bank transfer, or store credit toward your next set. Store credit is worth taking a look at if you are upgrading anyway, since the whole point of a trade-in is usually funding the next club.
- What kinds of golf clubs do you accept?
- Iron sets, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, single irons, wedges, putters and shafts. If it is golf equipment and it is in reasonable condition, list it — we would rather look at it and tell you than have you assume it is worthless.
- How many clubs can I trade in at once?
- Up to ten per request, which covers a full bag. Add them one at a time on this page and we value the lot together.
- Do I need to know the exact specs of my clubs?
- No. Brand or model is enough to get started — everything else is optional. The more you can tell us about shaft, flex, length and condition, the tighter and faster the offer, but we would rather have a rough submission than none at all. If you are unsure how to describe wear, our condition guide walks through the grades we use.
- Is it better to trade in or sell my clubs myself?
- Selling privately can net a little more on paper. It also means photographing every club, writing listings, answering messages, dealing with no-shows and lowballers, packing, shipping, and carrying the risk of a chargeback or a scam. A trade-in is one form, one offer and one shipment. If your time is worth anything, the gap closes fast — and our offers beat the big-box golf stores by 50 to 80 percent on average, because pre-owned is what we do rather than a sideline.
